  1. Could you define what your job role details and your day to day routine?

I have overall responsibility for eToro’s US operations, and together with our global management team, we set the US strategy. My routine involves planning, preparing and execution of various projects needed for the success of our business, managing and building our team, understanding and finding ways to help our customers be successful, and building  partnerships.

  • How is your organisation applying blockchain?

Earlier this year, we launched, in markets outside of the US, our cryptoasset exchange called eToroX. We launched a multi-sig on-chain wallet called eToro Wallet, we are offering 15 coins on our US platform, and following the acquisition of Firmo, we established eToro Labs, who is busy working on the tokenization of assets. Recently, we launched Lira, a programming language designed to make coding for financial derivatives on the Ethereum blockchain more accessible and to narrow the margin of error. Lira will reduce the risks involved in settling financial contracts and enable the creation of new derivative products from assets. Lastly, our social good project is called GoodDollar, which is an experiment with the ultimate purpose of reducing wealth inequality through blockchain.

  • What were the biggest challenges in using this technology?

The biggest problem blockchain and cryptocurrencies face is mass adoption, followed by regulatory uncertainty. Many projects don’t have user interfaces that the average consumer would need for mass adoption, and they are often in regulatory limbo that prevents partners or banks from working with them.

  • What can we expect from your team in the next 12 months?

eToro U.S.’s fall launches have included The TIE LongOnly CopyPortfolio, which is an investment strategy based on analysis of user sentiment on Twitter. Leveraging TheTie co-founders, Social Market Analytics, more than 850 million tweets a day are expertly analyzed for their crypto sentiment, extracted for relevance, evaluated to remove spam, bots and manipulators, scored and made actionable. Directly following this announcement, we launched CopyTrader in the U.S., a social-directed feature that allows crypto traders to copy the trades of Popular Investors who are vetted, reliable individuals who are noted for their skill and profiles in the crypto community. Our customers should expect more offerings that would help them trade the crypto asset class with ease, using best-in-class tools.

  • What are you most looking forward to at the show?

We’re looking forward to engage with customers and understand how to better serve them, meet new prospective partners, and learn about new ways to grow eToro and the industry overall.
